New car servicing, repairs and warranties – what’s the rules?

Another really important question we get asked often, is do you maintain new car warranties? And of course we say, YES!

In 2018, the Australian Consumer Law published an industry guide for Motor Vehicle Sales & Repairs. In this guide it states: “Any suggestion by manufacturers or dealers that vehicles need to be serviced at a licensed dealer to maintain the owner’s consumer guarantee rights is not correct”

Our workshop performs new car servicing in accordance to with the guidelines, knowing that we must abide by the ‘minimum essential requirements’, which includes:

  • Using quality spare parts from reputable suppliers
  • Servicing in accordance with manufacturers instructions
  • Staff are trained, supervised and qualified
  • Fluids and lubricants meet manufacturers specifications
